Lake Baringo is one of The Rift Valley Lakes, situated roughly 77 Kilometers North of the equator and 279 Kilometers from Nairobi.

It is accessible by road, which is entirely tarmacked. The area also has an airstrip that choppers and light aircraft utilize.

The lake occupies an area of 130 Square Kilometers  encompassing islands, namely Lesukut, Parmolok, Kokwa, Samatian, Lokorosand  Longicharo islands.

Lake Baringo is one of The Rift Valley Lakes, situated roughly 77 Kilometers North of the equator and 279 Kilometers from Nairobi. It is accessible by road, which is entirely tarmacked. The area also has an airstrip that choppers and light aircraft utilize. The lake occupies an area of 130 Square Kilometers  encompassing islands, namely Lesukut, Parmolok, Kokwa, Samatian, Lokorosand  Longicharo islands. Some of these islands are permanently occupied and some remain stopovers as well as camps for fishermen. Kokwa, Samatian and Parmalok are occupied. The lake has three major communities, Tugen, Ilchamus and Pokot, practicing fishing, livestock keeping and crop production.
